Go Max Go Review & Giveaway: Mahalo

I love candaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Who doesn’t love a good candy bar as a treat every once in a while? Now being vegan, there used to be very few options. And trying my best to be healthy, there are even fewer. But the wonderful people of Go Max Go Foods have shown me the light. A vegan candy bar? What will they think of next?!

When they found out I was going vegan, they happily sent me a sampling of their candy bars. I would have over looked these things so many times at Whole Foods if it weren’t for these wonderful people being so social, but now I am hooked!

Arn’t they just the nicest people?

Having lived in Hawaii for 7 years, of course we had to try the “Mahalo” first. The very first ingredient in it is desiccated coconut (that means they dry it out to the extreme!). Out of all of the Go Max Go candy bars, this one probably tastes most like the commercial version (in this case, Almond Joy). Sweet coconut topped with crunchy almonds for an amazing texture and then all coated in a delicious rice chocolate coating. Can someone say “Aloha?”.

Now oddly enough, I prefer coconut to be savory. But this is probably my only exception. What can I say? These guys know what they are doing. What? You don’t believe me? Well, here’s your chance to get one of these delicious candy bars for free! Heres how to win:

  1. What I would love most about a vegan candy bar is EVERYTHING! I’m going on my 3rd month of being vegan & have not had a candy bar because I have not found one that is animal friendly. The fact that you are telling me they exist is extremely exciting. So far I had been able to find replacements for all of my non-vegan indulgences (imitation oreo’s, non-gelatin gummy worms, even vegan marshmallows) but candy bars was still on the list. Whether I win or not I will definitely be checking these Go Max Go bars out. 🙂

But to better my chances of winning I have liked you on facebook, was already following you on twitter, I am now following Go Max Go on twitter & I also posted about the giveaway both on twitter & facebook. @SerendipiYami

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

    1. Imitation oreos? But Oreos are actually already vegan! Amazing isn’t it? But Neman-o’s are even better!

      1. Oops, you’re right! =X I think my reason for finding an “imitation” was the high fructose corn syrup.

  2. I would LOVE to win and be able to eat “junk” food along with everyone else. I hardley ever eat sweet stuff anymore since being a vegan, and I truly miss it!

  3. My favorite thing about vegan candy bars is that they allow me to really enjoy something decadent without breaking the bank!

  4. I already follow Go Max Go on Twitter!

  5. Yum! I want to Mahalo! Reminds me of an Almond Joy! Great giveaway!

  6. Oh those look so delicious! I keep checking every so often but I can never find Go Max Go at my local vegan-y store (Whole Foods, in my case).

Which is a crying shame since these look divine! I never know where the sugar is sourced from in candy so even the ones PETA and others list as “vegan” I end up avoiding.

Some actual, vegan candy would make life so much sweeter. And it’s pretty dang sweet already!

  7. I would love a vegan candy bar that was like a Twix. There is just something amazing about the cookie and caramel all covered in chocolate. Candy bars are probably one of the only things I miss since it is very hard to find any vegan candy like it. I didn’t even think that a brand making them existed!!!!!!! I have also followed you on twitter and gomaxgofoods on twitter

  8. Oh my YUM. Mouth is watering! Those Mahalo bars look scrumptious! I’m vegetarian and considering the jump to veganism, so this would definitely help me decide ;).

  9. I love the occasional vegan super-junk food (as opposed to homemade cookies or something), because it feels so decadent and well, normal! Hooray for companies making vegan candy bars! 🙂

  10. I would love to be able to just pick up a candy bar and eat it, without inspecting the ingredients! I am not a vegan, but due to food allergies I effectively must act as one when it comes to baked goods, candy, etc. and as a person with a sweet tooth it can be rather frustrating!

  13. What I would love most about a vegan candy bar? Well, I’m pretty biased since I’m one of those poor suckers with Celiac Disease, but knowing a candy bar was a) vegan, b) GLUTEN FREE and c) *DELICIOUS* would be the best thing ever. EVER!

  14. I love nougat in my candy bars. I could eat nougat covered in chocolate all day every day. Please vegan candy companies, more nougat please!

  26. Kelly, smart thinking. Sometimes I just quickly scan tweet for “vegan” and saw this giveaway. Sorry I missed your initial tweets VegMuffinMan because I already follow you on Twitter!

  27. I’m now following @GoMaxGoFoods. Hm, something about that name that I really like, haha.

  28. Hope it’s ok I posted these out of order. I don’t follow directions too well all the time, haha. I’d love to win these because they’re vegan. Need I say more?! Seriously, these look very cool and although I think I’ve heard of them before, I haven’t tried them yet and would really like to.
